In the Round Table Session “what are the key policy venues for mountain regions” international dialogues and negotiations will be discussed in which mountain issues should be considered, included or mainstreamed. The formulation process of the SDGs in which, through the corporate efforts of the Mountain Partnership, mountains have been included in three different targets or the presence at the Conferences of Parties of the Framework Convention on Climate Change are just two examples of such “Policy Venues”. Global mechanisms as well as regional approaches in the Carpathians, Russia, Caucasus and the Altai will be discussed. The Round Table will conclude with key messages about the visions for the “Mountains of our Future Earth 2020” and about the most promising policy venues to get us there.
